The goal with Shape Ups was to simulate walking on soft ground. SKECHERS has turned hard surfaces into comfortable ground through revolutionary technology designed into the framework of the shoe. The core of this technology is in the dynamic rolling bottom, the soft foam insert under the heel, and the dual-density midsole. These three elements work together to give you the feeling of walking on sand or luxurious pile carpet--regardless of the actual surface. Get in the Routine
1. Kick Back: Stand upright and place feet parallel and hip distance apart, balance centered. Roll your weight onto the back of the soft foam heel â" hold for a count of five and then back to the center. Do not lock knees or tip backward. Stretches calf and hamstrings. Repeat 5 to 10 times.
2. Rock and Roll: Stand upright and place feet parallel and hip distance apart, balance centered. Roll your weight forward so you are balancing on the underside of your toes â" hold for a count of two, then slowly rock back to the soft heel â" hold for a count of two, and then back to your center of balance. Do not lock knees or tip backward. Stretches calf and hamstrings, warms up Achilles and ankles. Repeat 5 to 10 times.
3. Roll and Rock and Roll: Follow the Rock and Roll stretch, but alternate feet so one is rolling to the toes and one is rocking back. Repeat 5 to 6 times.
4. The Lean: Place your hands on a wall, parallel and slightly above your head. With one leg in front of the other and your arms forward, press with your palms as if you were leaning on the wall. Keep your back leg straight and your front foot on the floor, then bend the front leg and lean forward by moving your hips toward the wall. Hold for a count of five, then repeat on the other side. Stretches calf and Achilles. Repeat 5 to 6 times.

I love these shoes. I wear them at work and I am on my feet 10 - 14 hours, 3 days a week.
I do alot of walking and standing at work and I find these shoes to be one of the best pair
I have ever had for work. Couldn't be happier with them. I found them to be true to size. Some
say size up a 1/2 size but I found them to be true to my size. Also, for on line shopping, these

Wow! This product really works. I was trying to lose weight after a pregnancy and wore these. I don't have any cellulite on my legs or butt! All I did was wear them when I did errands. Amazing results.

I was concerned about purchasing these, but I love them. I wear them as much as possible - often to work for 10-12 hour days. They are comfortable and fun. The first day felt a bit odd, but by day two I was in love. I would highly recoment these to anyone.
Skechers Shape-Ups Vs MBTs (2010-04-13)
True to size, I am walking heel to toe as suggested because of the ball-like balance effect, so I feel a slight slipping up and down at the back of the Shape-Up's heels. Too bad that Skechers and many other shoe companies do not make a size 10 and a 1/2 . I do feel the difference between the real deal-the original MBTs (patented rocker bottom) and the Shape-Ups because about 2 weeks after receiving the Shape-Ups as a gift,I ordered 2 pair of MBTS(they run smaller than the Shape-Ups). After a week of wearing the Shape-Ups,I feel that my legs (especially the back of my thighs) are getting a muscular workout. My very arthritic knees seem to feel better, jury still out on my back as I recently had low back surgery(one of several). I did practice walking for about an hour each day for a week for balance issues and generally getting used to the shoes, I did this with the MBTs as well.. I can def say I am motivated to walk in these shoes, maybe not as fast as most people, but I am comfortable and feel good knowing I am getting a workout since I am not capable of a more strenuous one at the gym! My neuro surgeon wears MBTs for years, highly recommends them and explained to me, these shoes are supposed to give you an almost chiropractic alignment of your core which aides the spine. I was told by MBT company rep, there is no need for orthotics either as these MBT shoes retrain your muscles, etc. in your arches and feet. A chiropractor who I know told me to add my soft custom orthotics to the Skechers Shape- Ups I just recently purchased, as he didn't feel they have the support for my arches. I didn't add my custom orthotics to my new MBTs, so I will see how that goes.. My husband as several pairs of MBTs and he does not use his custom orthotics, he loves wearing his MBTs as they are and gets the best support from the all-leather dress shoe style(no more limping from his bad knee).
